Kelsey Strandberg is a junior at Manson Northwest Webster High School and the daughter of Michael and Jennifer Strandberg of Rockwell City. She serves as the vice president for the school FFA chapter.

1.) Why FFA?:

FFA has taught me much from leadership and responsibility to social and communication skills. By serving as vice president and as one of the upperclassmen, I am in no doubt a leader. I participate in many FFA contests and conventions. I encourage other members to participate in FFA events, including students who are not in FFA to visit one of our monthly meetings to get the feel of it. I spread the word that FFA is FFFun.

2.) FFA project:

I raised broiler chickens as my SAE project. Raising chickens came with a lot of responsibility as well as time. I made sure to feed them daily and change their bedding weekly. I learned a lot about broilers and their needs. I enjoyed raising them as well as eating them.

3.) I’ve learned:

4.) Career path:

No matter what I decide on going into, being in FFA has helped me in pursuing my future plans.

5.) College plans:

I plan on attending Iowa State University and double-majoring in horticultural science and genetics. I am interested in plants and ways to enhance them. FFA has helped me to become more involved outside the class room and to learn about different things.

6.) FFA acvtivities:

I am a very active member in FFA. I have done everything from selling fruit to livestock judging and everything in between. My favorite activities were conventions that I attended because I met other FFA members and built friendships that will last a lifetime.
