Katrina McCarty is a junior at Clay Central/Everly High School in Spencer. She is the daughter of Eugene McCarty and a member of the CC/E FFA Chapter.

1.) Why FFA?:

My FFA advisor asked me to join in order to participate in the Career Development Event Ag CSI.

2.) FFA project:

My SAE project is agriculture education. I chose this because I enjoy working with children and teaching.

3.) I’ve learned:

Through FFA I have learned not only about agriculture, but ultimately about myself. FFA has helped me to grow into the person I am and the person I wish to be.

4.) Career path:

FFA has helped me expand the possibilities of my future career. Before I joined FFA I might not have thought of having a career in agriculture, and I certainly wouldn’t have realized all of the potential jobs that are in the agricultural field.

5.) College plans:

As of right now, I’m not certain on what I plan to major in or what school I want to go to. However, I do know that everything that I have learned through FFA will be of service to me in college. I will be able to apply my leadership, communication and work ethic skills to whatever I decide to do.

6.) FFA acvtivities:

FFA is a large part of my life, so I have been in involved in most of the activities that our chapter does. Some of my favorites have been CDE’s. I have done Ag CSI, creed speaking, chapter program, meat judging and food science. I also enjoy showing pigs at the Clay County Fair, National FFA Week, working at the Chop Shop at the Clay County Fair, and Farm Safety Day.
