Risky proposal

August 7, 2015
Farm News

To the editor,

If you are concerned about the proposed Bakken Oil Pipeline from an out-of-state oil company which would traverse Iowa and threaten our land and water, carrying 570,000 barrels of highly flammable crude oil across Iowa every day, then you are not alone.

There is a growing movement of Iowans committed to stopping this project in its tracks. I have learned by working with the Iowa Citizens for Community improvement that our voice is stronger by working together.

We, as landowners, have the same goal which is to stop the Bakken Oil Pipeline from coming through our state.

The only way we can do this is by getting involved. Let your neighbors know that they are not alone in this fight.

The fight is far from over, and with enough community support, we can put an end to this risky proposal.
