To the Editor:

Fall is the time to answer the question whether underground infrastructures such as cables, pipelines and etc., affect the productivity of farmland. This can be easily answered with the use of weight carts and yield monitors.

About 50 years ago the AT&T transcontinental cable was installed on a farm I now own. This fall while conducting yield checks of soybean varieties, I included a test of the yield on the AT&T Easement, and the yields of the same variety adjacent to the easement. My results prove a statically significant lower yield on the AT&T Easement.

If you have a cable, pipeline, etc. on your farm you might find the yield test results interesting.

Respectfully,
