Closed east Iowa plant

DYERSVILLE – VeraSun Energy announced earlier this week that it closed its Dyersville plant indefinitely. The Associated Press reported a story on the plant’s closing Nov. 19.The company made the announcement in an e-mail to producers and grain elevators.In the e-mail, the South Dakota-based company said the plant is closed for both corn deliveries and corn purchases until further notice. The e-mail added that the company is negotiating for additional financing that should be available next month. The plant opened last September and was projected to produce 110 million gallons of ethanol in its first year.
