Report 2009 crop acres by June 30

By Staff | Jun 12, 2009

The Farm Service Agency reminds producers to report crop acreage at local offices by June 30.

Acreage reports are required to participate in the Direct and Counter-Cyclical Program, Average Crop Revenue Election, Supplemental Revenue Assistance Payments Program, Conservation Reserve Program, Non-insured Assistance Program and to receive loan deficiency payments or marketing assistance loans. Acreage reporting may also be useful to track cropping history for future FSA program enrollment.

Pasture and grazed acreage must be reported for SURE, the Livestock Forage Program, and acreage covered by a NAP grazing policy.

After the June 30 reporting deadline, producers will be charged a minimum late-filing fee of $46 per farm. Acreage reports may be revised at any time without a late-filing charge as long as the crop may be verified in the field.
