ICCC sets commodity marketing update event
Iowa Central Community College, in Fort Dodge, will be offering a Farm Commodity Marketing and USDA Farm Program Update on Jan. 14, 2010, from 9:30 a.m. to noon in the Career Education Building, on the college campus, in Room 108.
The program is designed for producers and agri-businesses to keep up-to-date on commodity markets and farm program changes.
Virg Robinson, Pioneer Hi-Bred International marketing specialist, and Tom Abbas, Hamilton County FSA official, will be the presenters. Virg is a regular market analyst on the IPTV “Market to Market” television show.
Both speakers will bring their expertise to the seminar with plenty of time for questions and answers.
Topics include year-end corn and soybean supply and demand, corn usage for ethanol, 2009 grain exports and domestic usage, grain price outlook for 2010, how to setup a grain marketing plan, USDA ACRE program update, direct countercyclical program, SURE and commodity and facility loans.
