Former director signs on as Extension administrator
The Hardin County ISU Extension Council announced this week that Darwin Miller agreed to accept the new role of Hardin County Extension administrator, effective June 1.
The position will be part-time.
Miller had been the County Extension director in Hardin County for the previous nine years. ISU Extension underwent restructuring that was announced in May 2009 and took effect over the next several months.
Miller opted for early retirement from the state that began Feb. 1.
His new role will be as a county employee.
The Hardin County Extension Council worked through the fall to determine a new job description and plan for it in the budget.
Some of the objectives of the county Extension administrator are to plan, market and implement educational programs to meet the needs of Hardin County residents, to maintain and enhance county Extension partnerships, and to provide leadership and supervision of county paid staff.
