Iowa Women in Ag Conference set July 27

By Staff | Jun 10, 2010

Ankeny – July 27 will mark the fourth annual Iowa Women in Ag Conference to be held, this year, at Kinze Manufacturing, Inc., at Williamsburg.

The one-day conference, “Agriculture IS Business,” will feature an array of speakers and topics to help ag women sharpen their financial, legal and communications skills. The keynote speaker will be Marcia Taylor, executive editor at DTN.

Other program sessions will cover topics ranging from innovations in production agriculture to a report from the Iowa Legislature, to online marketing and advanced marketing, to estate strategies, to using Facebook and Twitter for getting your farm into the social media conversation.

In addition, the day will provide an opportunity to network and create friendships with other women actively involved in the agricultural industry.

Registration cost, before July 20, is $59, and afterward, $89. A block of rooms is reserved at the Best Western in Williamsburg. For reservations, contact (319) 668-9777 and ask for the Iowa Women in Ag room block. The room block will be released July 16.

IWIA’s goal is to provide educational opportunities women need in order to increase their skills in analyzing and making business and financial decisions.
