STORM LAKE – The deadline to register for the wetlands workshop at Buena Vista University is Oct.12. The workshop, scheduled for Oct.16 for educators and the general public, will offer a day experiencing Iowa wetlands and award-winning educational activities.
The program will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Room 229 at the Estelle Siebens Science Center. Participants will be introduced to activities about animal adaptations, animal migration, life cycles, watersheds, water quality and natural resources management, explore the Iowa Academy of Science National Wildlife Refuge audio series and then take a wetland walk at Storm Lake.
To register, send a check for $15 made out to Buena Vista University, with name, e-mail address, school and school address, home and school phone numbers and the grades registrants teach to Dr. Melinda Coogan, assistant professor of biology, Buena Vista University, 610 W. 4th St., Storm Lake, IA 50588.

Participants will each receive a Project Webfoot kit with $300 worth of classroom materials. Participants should bring a sack lunch.
