Iowa Central Community College Offers Agriculture Programs in January, 2011

Iowa Central Community College will be offering 2 programs for farmers and agri-business during January. “When is the best time to sell corn and soybeans in 2011”? will be held January 10 from 2 PM to 4 PM in the Career Education Building room 108 at the Fort Dodge Center. Dan Greder, Sciota Trading in Ames, will be the presenter. He will talk about world and domestic supply and demand considerations for corn and soybeans. Marketing strategies to use in a time of volatile prices will also be covered. One of he highlights of the program will be commodity price outlook for 2011 and how to set up a grain marketing plan.
Bob Streit will be the presenter on January 24 and January 31 with the topic “Crop challenges for 2011”. The program will be held from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM in the Career Education Building room 108 at the Iowa Central Community College Fort Dodge Center. Topics will include soil fertility considerations, crop management ideas, soil management, diseases and fungicides, and seed traits to consider when buying seed.
