ICCC sets January ag programs
FORT DODGE – Iowa Central Community College will be offering two programs for farmers and agri-businesses during January.
These include:
- Jan. 10 – “When is the best time to sell corn and soybeans in 2011?” from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Career Education Building, room 108 at the Fort Dodge Center.
Dan Greder, of Sciota Trading, in Ames, will be the presenter. He will talk about world and domestic supply and demand considerations for corn and soybeans.
Marketing strategies to use in a time of volatile prices will also be covered. One of he highlights of the program will be a commodity price outlook for 2011 and how to set up a grain marketing plan.
- Jan. 24/Jan. 31 – Bob Streit will be the presenter both nights from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Career Education Building, room 108 at the Fort Dodge Center.
He will speak on crop challenges for 2011. Topics will include soil fertility considerations, crop management ideas, soil management, diseases and fungicides and seed traits to consider when buying seed.
