What’s the answer?

By Staff | Feb 4, 2011

To the editor:

I’m a little confused with two different references made by David Kruse that were made in two different columns about what caused the depression of the 1930s.

If I remember correctly, Kruse said tariffs were the cause. Now, we’ve had free trade for some time so what caused this depression? I sure would like to know the answer.

I usually read his thoughts and agree with most of what he writes.
