Webster County issues burning ban
According to Tony Jorgenson, director of Webster County Emergency Management, a burning ban has been implemented for rural Webster County starting at 11 a.m. on Tuesday.
Jorgenson said the ban was at the request of rural fire chiefs around the county because of the tinder dry field conditions and windy weather. The ban was approved by the state fire marshall’s office.
The ban will remain in place, Jorgenson said, until the county fire chiefs determine conditions are safe for open burning. The ban does not apply to Fort Diodge, which has its own open burning ordinance.
