Badger slated for 2012 market outlook meeting
BADGER – A marketing outlook meeting for 2012 is set for 6:30 p.m., Thursday at the Badger Community Center, 211 First Ave. SE, in Badger.
Tomm Pfitzenmaier, a founding partner of Summit Commodity Brokerage in Des Moines, will discuss primarily corn and soybean marketing for the next crop year.
Pfitzenmaier said the outlook will focus on grain in view of the U.S. dollar and outside markets and discuss a variety of strategies “to encourage some sales of the 2011 crops and setting floor prices on the 2012 crop.”
He said some discussion on livestock is possible, “but only as it relates to grain.”
There is no admission fee to attend the meeting. However, since seating is limited, reservations are requested by calling (800) 247-5869.
