The Webster County Cattlemen’s Association will hold its annual banquet at 6 p.m. on March 26, in the east side of the Webster County Fairgrounds’ auditorium.

A social gathering is at 6 p.m. and the meal will be served at 6:30 p.m., followed by the program.

The new state chief executive officer, Matt Deppe, will be present.

Dean Black, a cattle feeder from Somers, will discuss his trip to Japan last fall as part of the beef checkoff program.

Black is one of Iowa’s representatives to the national Cattlemen’s Beef Board.

Black, along with Boone-area seedstock producer Daryl Strohbehn, was part of an Iowa trade team with Bill Northey, Iowa secretary of agriculture, and representatives of the Iowa Economic Development Authority, the Iowa Pork Producers Association and the U.S. Meat Export Federation.
