HCCEF schedules grant awards night
ELDORA – The Hardin County Community Endowment Foundation will award more than $95,000 to 28 Hardin County nonprofit organizations at the foundation’s annual awards night at 7 p.m., April 14 at the South Hardin High School.
Grants awarded will support significant Hardin County community programs and projects in the areas of art and culture, community betterment, economic development and entrepreneurship, education, health and human services, recreation and environment, and youth development.
Grant Committee Chair Kristi Harris, said the foundation received 45 applications requesting more than $156,760.
“HCCEF has become a trusted partner with nonprofit organizations to build stronger communities,” Harris said. In its 8-year history, HCCEF has awarded more than $796,236 in total grants, and administers $1.6 million in endowment assets.
In addition to grantmaking, HCCEF assists donors who wish to support charitable organizations that are important to them.
To date, donors have established 38 endowed funds with HCCEF.
As an added incentive, donors making a gift to a permanent endowment with HCCEF are eligible to receive a 25 percent Endow Iowa income tax credit.
