Landowners habitat workshop set

A private lands workshop will be held from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., on Sept. 15, for those interesting in ways of enhancing land using techniques that lead to long-term sustainability.

This free workshop, held at the Prairie Resource Center at Brushy Creek State Recreation Area, east of Lehigh, will host the district forester and biologists from around the state who have experience and knowledge in natural resource management.

The address is 2820 Brushy Creek Road, 1 mile north of D46 on Brushy Creek Road.

Topics include oak hickory loss, timber restoration, invasive species, grassland management, burning, watershed projects, and the Bird Conservation Area in the Boone Forks Wildlife Area.

A wild game feed will be provided free of charge and the evening will end with an outdoor session showcasing effects and examples of natural resource work.
