ISU honors Hardin County Extension director

AMES – Darwin Miller, Hardin County Extension administrator, was awarded on Oct. 24 the Meritorious Service Award at the 2012 Extension annual conference in Ames.

Miller received the award for his contributions to clientele and significant contributions to the ISU Extension mission over time.

Miller is known for his leadership and programming skills, credibility with clients, collaborative efforts, with diverse audiences, and professional development.

His knowledge of program marketing, fiscal management and human resources has made him an effective county Extension administrator, the award said.

“Darwin is a constant professional who is always keeping the Hardin County citizen’s best interest in mind.,” said Rich Wrage, Region 8 director, which includes the counties of Hardin, Boone, Story and Marshall. “He has a strong commitment to bringing his knowledge and Iowa State University’s knowledge to help all of Hardin County.”

The award was presented by Cathann Kress, ISU Extension vice president.
