Spotlight on FFA – Jan. 11, 2013
.) Why FFA?: I am involved in FFA because I have always been interested in agriculture. I was raised on a farm where we raise purebred Limousin cattle, and have a corn and soybean operation as well. I love working with my calves, and getting to meet new people at all the shows and contests I go to!
.) FFA project: I have an SAE project in Beef Production. I also have forage production as a side project.
.) I’ve learned: FFA has taught me to believe in myself. Coming from a small school in grade school, you can easily rise to the top, but high school is a different story. You have to depend on your own knowlege to get you through all your classes so you can be the best you can be.
.) Career path: After college I plan on being back on my families farm filling in for my dad when necessary, and expanding our Limousin cattle herd.
.) College plans: I plan on attending Iowa State in the fall of 2013 and majoring in Animal Science.
.) FFA acvtivities: I have been involved in conduct of meetings team (2 years), FFA fruit sales (4 years), I have gone to state convention twice, and national convention once.
