Katlyn Cowlham is a sophomore at Odeboldt/Arthur-Battle Creek/Ida Grove High School in Ida Grove. She is the daughter of Jason and Joan Cowlham, of Ida Grove.

1.) Why FFA?:

I am involved in FFA because I enjoy learning about agriculture and meeting new people. When I graduate I plan on going into the agriculture field.

2.) FFA project:

My Supervised Agricultural Experience project is working on my parent’s farm and take care of my cats, dogs, horses, and cows. I also work as a waitress at Aunt B’s in Arthur. I also help my grandparents with their detasseling business.

3.) I’ve learned:

The most important thing I have learned in FFA is how to meet new people.

4.) Career path:

I would like to go into the agriculture field after high school. FFA and ag class have helped me by giving me a better understanding of what agriculture is really about.

5.) College plans:

Being a sophomore I really don’t have college plans yet, but I would be interested in being a pre-school teacher or have a career in agriculture.

6.) FFA acvtivities:

I have been involved in National FFA Convention, livestock judging. I am a member of the parliamentarypProcedure team, helped serve at the OA-BCIG FFA banquet, and the FFA soup supper.

I have also helped with several community service activities like assisting the Sac County Cattlemen with RAGBRIA food stand, the FFA Float for Creek Days in Odebolt, and concession stand at sporting events for the FFA.
