Tractor ride set for Franklin, Butler counties

BRISTOW – This year’s 11th annual KLMJ/KQCR Antique Tractor parade is Saturday, starting and finishing in Bristow. The parade of antique iron will begin at the Bristow Fire Department, with a breakfast that is open to the public, serving from 6 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

This year’s Antique Tractor Parade will leave from Bristow and go through Aredale to Hansell, for a morning break between 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., and continue around Beed’s Lake to Hampton, where an antique tractor show will be held between noon and 1:30 p.m., as part of the Hampton Summerfest Celebration.

The afternoon route will go through Geneva to Dumont, for an afternoon break at approximately 3 p.m., and then finish in Bristow.

This year, more than 80 drivers from 16 counties, plus drivers from Arizona and Wisconsin, will be participating. The oldest tractor preregistered is a 1940 John Deere L that will be driven by Keith Traeger, of Eagle Grove.

Applications are available at tractor parade sponsors including Countryside Turf and Timber in Iowa Falls, Dumont Implement Co., FC elevators, Franklin County Farmers Mutual Insurance Association in Hampton, Center One in Hampton, Latham Hi-Tech Seed in Alexander, Midwest Meter/Mid:Com in Hampton, North Central Millwright and Buresh Building Systems in Hampton, and North Iowa Cooperative in Thornton.
