2014 Youth Beef Bonanza set

EMMETSBURG – Youths in grades four and older and their families may attend the first Youth Beef Beef Bonanza sponsored by Iowa State University Extension and Iowa Lakes Community College.

The hands-on educational event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. on Jan. 18 at Iowa Lake Community College in Emmetsburg.

Participation in this program will earn you the designation of “Certified Youth Beef Producer” and will also fulfill your Food Safety and Quality Assurance training.

Some of the sessions that will be offered include cattle comfort and nutrition, vet health, where’s money goes, and beefing up meal time.

Those planning to attend must preregistered no later than Jan. 7.
