Adam Murley – East Sac High School

By Staff | Jan 10, 2014

Adam Murley, is a student at East Sac Community School District and is the son of Chris and Kelly Murley. He’s a member of the East Sac chapter of FFA.

1.) Why FFA?:

“I want to be a better leader and learn more about Agriculture.”

2.) FFA project:

My SAE consists of working on a crop and turkey farm. On the turkey farm I help run solution or cleaner through the water lines and then walk and dump all the waters and set them to the right level before new birds arrive. Whenever they need help doing chores I walk and pick up deads and compost them in another shed. Then I move to the crop side of things when they need help running tractors. I mainly help in the fall ripping the soil. If something breaks down I sometimes go and get the parts.

3.) I’ve learned:

Leadership is the biggest thing I’ve learned. Before I was in FFA I was very shy and kept to myself and when I joined FFA I opened up.

4.) Career path:

Crop production. FFA has helped me with this because there are so many contests that will help me learn more about crop production.

5.) College plans:

Iowa Lake Community College for agriculture production technology.

6.) FFA acvtivities:

z Conduct of meetings.

z Mechanics

z Chapter website.

z Attended National FFA convention.

z Participated at State Leadership Conference for five years.

z Sold fruit.

z Served as chairman of the FFA test plot committee.

z Pulled the FFA float in local community parades
