DES MOINES – 4-H’ers from Boone, Hardin, Marshall and Story counties interested in food and nutrition, marketing, careers in the food industry, or food photography may explore these career fields on Feb. 17 at Better Homes and Gardens Test Kitchen, in Des Moines.

Lynn Blanchard, director of the Meredith Test Kitchen, will take members behind the scenes in the test kitchen and photography studio to see how this company, started in 1928, continues to provide the home cook with culinary solutions.

Following the tour, youth will enjoy a cultural dining experience at the Gateway Cafe and explore the world of products in the Gateway Market.

Both locations will introduce youth to careers and skills in the priority 4-H programming areas in healthy living, STEM, communication and the arts.

Pre-registration and a small fee are required.

Youth my register at their county Extension office or acquire the form online at www.extension.iastate.edu/hardin/4hr.
