IOWA FALLS –Food Safety Training for Local Growers will be held from 9 a.m.. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, at the Hardin County Extension office in Iowa Falls.

Guest speakers will be Chris Blanchard, a local foods producer; James Romer with the Iowa Department of Inspection and Appeals, Chef Randy Husted, and Steve Bowers, Iowa Falls Hy-Vee produce manager.

The workshop will focus on improving the quality of local produce, increasing market appeal, and the importance of local growers formulating a food safety plan.

The registration fee is $50 and pr-registration is required.
