Farmland owners workshop set June 13
ALTOONA – ISU Extension of Polk County is conducting a farmland owners workshop from 8:230 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 13 at the Polk County ISU Extension office, 1625 Adventureland Drive, Suite A, in Altoona.
Participants will learn about:
A). Iowa nutrient reduction strategy, presented by Jamie Benning, water quality program manager, ISU Extension.
B). Incorporating conservation practices into farm leases, presented by Ed Cox, staff attorney, Drake University Ag Law Center.
C). ARC versus PLC enrollment decisions, presented by Steve Johnson, farm management specialist, ISU Extension.
D). Power of attorney and legal update, presented by Kristine Tidgren, staff attorney, ISU Extension.
Pre-registration is required at least two days before the workshop at $35 per individual or $50 per couple, payable at the door.
