4-H Camp now taking registrations
Junior 4-H members from Boone, Hardin, Marshall and Story counties who are completing fourth, fifth and sixth grades may register now for Tri-County Junior 4-H Camp set at 10 a.m. on July 30 through 8:30 p.m. to Aug. 1 at the Iowa 4-H Camping Center, 1991 Peach Ave., near Madrid.
Campers will have three fun-filled days learning new skills, making new friends, reuniting with other campers, testing their skills during camp activities, and enjoying the outdoors.
Family members are invited to a barbecue, closing ceremony, and campfire on the evening of Aug. 1.
Campers will participate in team building, campfires, swimming, outdoor cooking, nature activities, crafts and evening celebrations.
Campers will choose other activities from climbing tower, mega zip, creek walk, canoeing, archery and atlatls, kayaking, and arts and crafts. An atlatl is a tool by which leverage is used to throw a dart.
The registration form is available from Extension offices or county’s Extension website .
The registration deadline is July 10 or until camp is full.
