Kristina Luscombe is a senior at Odebolt-Arthur/Battle Creek-Ida Grove and a member of that school’s FFA chapter.

1.) Why FFA?:

I am involved with FFA because it is a great opportunity to be involved with the community. Our chapter is a great resource for the community to help with things that need to be done. Service opportunities include counting cans, helping with mobile food banks, and other events.

2.) FFA project:

I have worked on the FFA scrapbook for the last three years to prepare it for state convention. I love helping with the scrapbook because I like doing art type projects, while combining that with ag and FFA.

3.) I’ve learned:

I have learned a lot about responsibility and leadership. It takes a lot of responsibility to help get through fruit sales, attend meetings regularly, and to help with our annual soup supper. As an upperclassmen it is my responsibility to be a leader to our younger FFA members.

4.) Career path:

I am going into agricultural marketing. With ag marketing I would like to eventually work for a cooperative. FFA has helped me choose this career path because it has shown me the importance of agriculture and I would like to be a part of something that helps feed the world.

5.) College plans:

I am going to Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge in the fall 2014 for ag studies.

6.) FFA activities:

I have been involved with helping our community through mobile food banks, various events and ag safety day.
