The three-hour workshop is designed to assist landowners, tenants and other agri-business professionals with current issues related to farmland ownership, management and leasing agreements.

Each workshop attendee will receive a set of beneficial materials regarding farm leasing arrangements and farmland ownership.

Resources on farmland surveys and leasing arrangements also are provided.

Topics to be covered include:

A). Iowa Cash Rental Rate Survey and Land Values Survey.

B). Comparison of different types of leases.

C). Lease termination.

D). Impacts of yields and prices.

E). Calculating a fair cash rent.

F). Use of spreadsheets to compare leases.

G). Issues unique to this year’s production and an outlook for 2014.

“With the volatile grain markets and increasing input costs you’ll want to attend this meeting to stay up to date on what is happening,” said Kelvin Leibold, an ISU farm and ag management specialist.

Registration is $20 per person and $25 for late registration (less than two days before the workshop).
