1.) Why FFA?:

Being an FFA member is a tradition in my family. My grandfather and cousins were members, so I decided to join FFA.

2.) FFA project:

My FFA projects are raising and showing sheep, hogs, and chickens at the Clay County Fair, as well as working on my family’s corn and soybean farm near Peterson.

3.) I’ve learned:

The most important life skill that I have learned through FFA is managing people. I have learned how to lead other students to achieve a common goal, such as organizing events in the community and helping FFA members excel in contests.

4.) Career path:

The career I would like to pursue after college is agronomy. I have been interested in crops ever since I was a little kid, riding around in my dad’s truck and checking fields with him.

FFA has helped me learn more about agronomy, through the soils judging contests which I have competed in.

5.) College plans:

I plan to double major in agronomy and agriculture business at Iowa State University next fall.

6.) FFA acvtivities:

As an FFA member, I have been involved in conduct of meetings, agriculture sales, chapter rogram, livestock judging and soil judging contests. I have been to both state and national FFA conventions, and the legislative symposium at the state capital.
