Farm bill program meetings set in Central Iowa
AMES – Iowa State University Extension and U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency are hosting new farm program meetings at the following locations in Central Iowa:
“These meetings are designed to help farmers, landowners and other agri-business professionals with current issues related to pending enrollment decisions in the new farm program,” said Steve Johnson, farm and agriculture business management specialist with ISU Extension and Outreach.
Topics include Agriculture Risk Coverage and Price Loss Coverage regulations, forms, updates, election and enrollment process information and estimating potential ARC and PLC payments.
Meeting locations within the Farm News coverage area are:
A). Adel – 6:30 p.m. on Monday at Adel-Desoto-Minburn High School Commons, 801 Nile Kinnick Dr. S.
B). Altoona – 9 a.m. on Monday at Polk County Extension, 1625 Adventureland Dr., Ste A.
C). Marshalltown – 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Marshalltown Community College, 3700 S. Center St., Dejardin Hall, Room 808
D). Ogden – 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at Leonard Good Community Center, 114 SW 8th St.
Meetings will last approximately 2.5 hours and will be facilitated by Johnson and feature FSA staff discussing ARC and PLC.
No registration fee is required, although pre-registration is encouraged 48 hours before each meeting. The meetings are open to the public and refreshments will be served.
