F.I.R.S.T data will help farmers
Farmers Independent Research of Seed Companies – F.I.R.S.T. is an association of farmers and businesses that spans 16 states. F.I.R.S.T. works with farmers and sponsoring seed companies to identify newly developed and trait-added seed corn and soybean products that can enhance productivity. Since its inception in 1997, F.I.R.S.T.’s goal has been quite simply to increase knowledge and thereby improve farm operations.
This issue includes a booklet that provides detailed results from corn and soybean test plots in the Farm News circulation area. The corn plots are in Buena Vista, Hancock, Hardin, Ida, Kossuth, O’Brien, Palo Alto, Plymouth, Story and Webster counties. The Soybean plots are in Buena Vista, Hardin, Ida, Kossuth, O’Brien, Palo Alto, Pocahontas, Sioux, Story and Webster counties.
The unbiased and variety yield and agronomic results reported for the various test sites will help Iowa’s corn and soybean farmers make planting decisions. In so doing, they will also help ensure that the Hawkeye State’s farms remain the nation’s top producers of these important crops.
