WCCTA sets four educational workshop dates
GOWRIE – The Webster-Calhoun Cooperative Telephone Association will offer a new program called Manage Your Media aimed at increasing education, use, and adoption of devices and applications that utilize access to the Internet.
The four-program event is set for:
- Feb. 17 at 2 p.m. at WCCTA, 1106 Beek St. in Gowrie. The topic is on managing the various types of media.
- Feb. 24 at 2 p.m. at WCCTA. The topic is on social media and Facebook.
- March 12 at 4:30 p.m. in the Somers Library. The topic is on open questions on media.
- March 19 at 6 p.m. in the Paton library. The topic is on tablets and iPads.
New devices and applications are popping up every day and how one uses them can be overwhelming.
Manage Your Media is designed as an introductory program on topics such as social media, basic internet access and wi-fi, computers 101, Tablets/iPads, Smartphones, email, digital photography, along with an open ended technology question and answer session.
The Manage Your Media program is available to any group or organization looking for a speaker and can be customized to any timeframe.
“As a membership owned cooperative it is important that we not only provide telecommunication services to our members but we also need to be on the forefront in providing these same members the technology information they need to keep up with all the changes,” said Marcie Boerner, WCCTA office manager.
