Story County to host watershed workshop
NEVADA – Everyone lives in a watershed and has a relationship with the watershed.
Learn more about Iowa water quality issues, how watersheds function and the human relationship with them from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. May 4 at the Story County Iowa State University Extension office, 220 H. Ave., Nevada.
Water Rocks!, along with Story County Extension and Master Gardeners programs, are sponsoring the free workshop “How Does Your Water Shed?”and will cover watersheds and water issues.

The workshop will include a combination of discussion, videos and interactive activities to generate dialog and create awareness of local and larger watersheds, as well as water quality issues.
Matt Helmers, an ISU agricultural and biosystems engineer, will lead the workshop.
Specializing in subsurface drainage, Helmers leads research on land management and nutrient reduction practices across the state.
