Storms inundate row crops
Memorial Day storms dropping as much as an inch or more of rain in a matter of minutes on already saturated fields left huge ponding and some erosion in Iowa fields. Northwest Iowa received 3 to 5 inches of rain, as did central Webster County. Much of northcentral and central Iowa received an inch or less. Above, a corn field southwest of Fort Dodge, along County Road D20, will need a few days to return to normal.
