Fort Dodge slates twilight vegetable farm tour June 22

By Staff | Jun 14, 2015

FORT DODGE – Iowa State University Extension will be hosting a twilight vegetable farm tour from 6-8 p.m. June 22 at the Webster County Extension office, 217 S. 25th St., Suite C12 in Fort Dodge.

Joe Hannon, an ISU commercial horticulture specialist, will introduce himself, his services, and review the 2015 production season thus far.

After an informal 30-minute discussion attendees will proceed to the Richard Buske Farm, 1550 Madison Ave., Fort Dodge, for a walking tour of the commercial vegetable farm. Hannan and Buske will address questions on pests, growing conditions, and ideas to maximize production and profitability.

This is a great opportunity to network with other commercial growers. The cost of the program is free and no pre-registration is required.

This event is sponsored in part by ISU Extension, the Iowa Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association, and the Webster County Extension Office.
