Farmland lease meeting set
IOWA FALLS – A Farmland Leasing Meeting will be held from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Aug. 13 at Hamilton Auditorium on the Ellsworth Community College campus in Iowa Falls.
Kelvin Leibold, an ISU Extension farm management specialist, will be the guest speaker.
The meeting is designed to inform landowners and tenants as well as agribusiness professionals on current cash rental surveys and factors driving next year’s rents.
Topics will include cost of production estimates, farm land value and cash rent surveys, a farm bill update, cash and flexible leases, and strategies for writing and terminating leases.
There will be a time for questions and answers.
A farm leasing workbook will be available for purchase that evening.
The meeting is open to the public. Pre-registration is not required and there is no charge to attend the meeting.
The meeting is co-sponsored by Hardin County ISU Extension, Hardin County Bankers Association, and Iowa Valley Continuing Education.
