Hancock County District Fair

A CULVERT propped up by hay bales was a popular place to slide during the fair. The bales were also stacked to make a tunnel children could crawl through.
-Farm News photos by Clayton Rye AFTER MORNING RAIN gave way to overcast skies followed by afternoon sun, the carnival opened for everyone’s enjoyment on July 27.
GRACE TUSHA, 18, a member of the Orthel Jolly Workers 4-H Club, brought the grand champion market steer to the Hancock County Fair. This was her last time showing at the fair as she will be entering Iowa State University this fall enrolled in ag business. She is the daughter of Tim and Ellen Tusham, of Garner.

OLIVIA DEWAARD, of Kanawha, prepares her calf, Lacy, for the bucket calf show on July 27. This is her second year showing at the bucket calf show.
