Webster County 4-H’ers Dillon Sytsma, in green hat, and Randy Andrews, in blue hat, instruct youths in how to assemble an edible fishing pole, line and worm during a 4-H working exhibit Friday at the Iowa State Fair. The youths brought pretzels as the pole, Twizzler strands for the line and gummy worms for the bait. “Hooked on Fishing” was the name of the exhibit. Both are students at Southeast Grand Community School District in Gowrie, and both are fishing enthusiasts. Sytsma said he’s been at the State Fair with edible working exhibits for several years. This was Andrews’ first working exhibit, although he said he’s been at the fair with 4-H communication projects in the past. The boys said they plan to work together again in 2016, but no theme has been determined.
