Top tomatoes at Nevada FFA

Nevada High School FFA placed third with it Red Pear tomatoes and fifth place with its Big Boy tomato entries. From left are Chloe Davis, Madison Huynh, Mekenlie Jones, and Cassie Galm, an ISU ag ed major. The chapter garden was planned and planted with supervision from Cassie Galm, an ISU ag education major and Spencer native. The garden project was funded with a $2,500 grant from Farm Credit Service of America. “The students and community have enjoyed learning from this garden project,” said Kevin Cooper, Nevada High School ag Instructor and FFA advisor. The chapter also started harvesting potatoes that will be used in the school lunch program.
