Flint Hills resources names new manager
IOWA FALLS – Flint Hills Resources in Iowa Falls announce Aug. 13 the appointment of Matt Hamburg to the role of plant manager.
In this role, Hamburg will manage the ethanol facility’s overall operations and oversee a team of more than 60 employees.
Hamburg joins Flint Hills Resources with more than 16 years of operational experience.
Most recently, he served as refinery superintendent at Cargill’s Gainesville, Georgia, dressings, sauces and oils plant where he managed refinery operations and oversaw improvements to refinery output and safety programs.
“Matt has a wealth of experience in plant management, and a track record for success in maintaining safe and reliable operations,” said Darrell Birck, director of operations at Flint Hills Resources.
Hamburg earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from Iowa State University in 2000. He and his wife, Tara, are in the process of relocating to Iowa Falls with their son, Dean.
Flint Hills Resources is currently hiring for open positions available at its five Iowa ethanol facilities in Arthur, Fairbank, Menlo, Shell Rock, Iowa Falls, in Iowa; plus plants in Fairmont, Nebraska, and Camilla, Georgia, and its regional offices in Ames.
