Altoona farmland owners workshop set
ALTOONA – A farmland owners workshop is set from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 11, at the Polk County ISU Extension Office in Altoona.
The workshop will discuss improving soil conservation, nutrient management and soil health strategies.
Other topics and speakers include:
- Landowners’ use of Big Data, presented by Encirca Services Manager Ken O’Brien, DuPont Pioneer.
- Legal Update for Landowners, presented by Staff Attorney Kristine Tidgren, ISU Center for Ag Law and Taxation.
- 2016 Farmland Lease Arrangements, presented by Farm Management Extension Specialist, Steve Johnson.
Cost is $35 per person or $50 per couple and includes lunch. The deadline to RSVP is Sept. 8.
