DAVID BOCKMAN finishes combining a field of soybeans belonging to Don, Verona and Jon Chaffin, of Milford. While yield numbers are coming in “all over the board,” Jon Chaffin said, his average yield is hovering around 54 bushels per acre. He said some fields delivered what they expected, while others were less productive. USDA-NASS reported Monday 7 percent of the state’s soybeans had been harvested and the condition was rated as 77 percent good to excellent.
