Home & Garden Expo is place to be
With spring in the air, the 2016 Home & Garden Expo should be the destination of choice this weekend for anyone with even the hint of a green thumb or a desire to spruce up the family home.
This annual event begins at Iowa Central Community College’s East Campus today from 4 to 8 p.m., continues Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and winds up Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The show is sponsored by The Messenger, the Fort Dodge Homebuilders Association and Iowa Central.
Highlighting the expo will be the following special presentations:
- Jesse Winter, of North Central Iowa Services, will be on hand today at 6 p.m. to share his expertise regarding solar energy.
- Bill McAnally, an expert in home improvement possibilities, will be present at 10 a.m. Saturday to share his insights on home-building and remodeling.
- Jerry Kluver, a gardening guru affiliated with Hy-Vee, will share tips at noon and again at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
- Mitch Fridolfson, of North Central Iowa Service, will be speaking on geothermal energy at 1 p.m. Sunday.
Throughout the event there will be booths and displays showcasing a wide array of businesses and organizations. This year more than 50 exhibitors will be at the Expo. The numerous gardening and home improvement options being featured will make the event memorable and worthwhile for everyone who stops by.
