The evening will feature local producers representing GoodEetens Produce Farm, Seven Wilson Farm, Boernsen Bees and Calico Skies Vineyard and Winery.
“Many of the items on our menu came from these local producers, as well as others,” said Margaret Murphy, horticulture educator and regional food coordinator with ISU Extension. “Our harvest dinner is meant to be a fun and tasty time for local food lovers to join together and share fellowship.
“Plus, those in attendance will learn more about the delicious foods that they’re enjoying from the people who produced it.”
The evening will begin with appetizers and wine tasting, followed by short remarks from the featured producers.
Next on the menu will be the main course featuring smoked pork, roasted butternut squash, herbed potatoes and maple glazed carrots. For dessert, diners will enjoy an apple honey custard pie.
Spiced apple cider and locally-roasted coffee will also be available throughout the meal.
