Ag Ed Day set in Emmetsburg

EMMETSBURG – Kossuth/Palo Alto County Economic Development Corp., along with the ag committee and area ag-related businesses, are hosting the annual Ag Education Day on 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 23 at the Wild Rose Casino in Emmetsburg. The event includes lunch. Registration begins at 8 a.m.

Ag Education Day will feature topics on how farmers can save money and maximize their return on investment, a weather outlook and yield potential, understanding the difference between generations and what they bring working together, and important economic indicators for the farm sector.

Guest speakers include:

A. Hefty Brother – Darren and Brian, hosts of Ag PhD TV and Radio.

B. Brenda Clark Hamilton, Fresh Coffee-professional growth programs.

C. Dr. Ernie Goss, MacAllister chair and professor of economics at California State University-Fresno.

D. Dr. Elwynn Taylor, professor of ag meteorology and Iowa State University Extension climatologist.

Brochures featuring highlights of the event are available at area cooperatives, banks, libraries, implement dealerships, city halls, and the ISU Extension offices in Algona and Emmetsburg.

A registration form is included in the brochure which can be completed and mailed along with a check made payable to Kossuth/Palo Alto County Economic Development Corporation, 106 S. Dodge Street, Suite 210, Algona, Iowa, 50511.

The cost is $35 per person. Cost for students is $15.
