ISU Extension and Outreach provides grain marketing

education to farm women

Fort Dodge – Women Marketing Grain, a four-week course designed to help farm women learn market strategies and stay on track for long term market success, is being offered by Webster County Extension. Classes begin Monday, July 10, and continue through July 31. Online registration is available at www.aep.iastate.edu/womeninag or at the Webster County Extension office in Fort Dodge. Registrations must be made by midnight July 3 online.

Farm women participating in Women Marketing Grain become better business partners and owners by learning to manage and organize critical information for their own farms, while establishing networks with other farm women and agriculture business professionals.

According to ISU Extension and Outreach farm specialist, Kelvin Leibold, Women Marketing Grain participants will know more about identifying crop prices and marketing costs, understanding price movements and utilizing a variety of crop marketing tools.

“Our goal is to provide a program that is of great interest and value. Each session includes presentations, discussions and hands-on activities,” Leibold states.

“In addition, guest speakers share their personal experiences and knowledge to help women become better business partners and owners,” says Leibold.

A meal will be served beginning at 5:30 p.m. with the classes starting at 6 p.m. and continue till 8:30 p.m. Classes will be held at the Webster County Extension Office which is located at 217 S. 25th Street, Fort Dodge.
