9/11 survivor spoke at Clay County Fair
CommStock Investments of Royal sponsored their second annual customer appreciation event last Saturday at the Clay County Fair.
The speaker for this year’s event was Richard Picciotto. Picciotto was a New York City Fire Department Chief and the highest ranking firefighter to survive the World Trade Center Collapse on 9/11. He was the FDNY battalion commander in lower Manhattan when it was the target of terrorist attacks that we all know resulted in the collapse of two of the World Trade Center towers and the death of thousands of individuals. Richard and his fellow firefighters selflessly rushed inside the World Trade Center Towers to rescue those trapped inside. Picciotto recounted his experiences that day and those following, revealing how he summoned courage through preparation and leadership to take on and survive this difficult task and help save numerous lives . Picciotto is also the author of his book, “Last Man Down,” detailing his experiences the day of 9/11 and the days that followed.
” We were honored to have a selfless public servant such as Mr. Picciotto attend this year’s fair as a speaker for our customer appreciation event,” said David Kruse, president of CommStock Investments. “It is public servants like him that help respond to our needs for safety and we commend him and all those like him, for their service. We send him a thank you from all of us. CommStock Investments was excited to be the majority sponsor to host his visit to the Clay County Fair.”
