Helping the pheasants
A few pheasants take off from an open field south of Otho Sunday as they wander out of their normal habitat areas in search of food. The birds are having a difficult time finding food in the heavy snow cover and deep drifts

MANSON – Pro Co-op in Manson is offering free corn to anyone who wants to use it to feed pheasants.
A red grain wagon at the co-op’s Manson location is full of free whole corn. Anyone who’s interested and willing to distribute some corn for the pheasants is invited to stop by and fill up a 5-gallon bucket or two.
Free corn for feeding pheasants can also be be picked up at Macke Motors in Lake City and the Natural Resources Conservation Service office in Rockwell City.
